Lenovo laptop keyboard replacement in Warsaw — keys not responding, typing on their own, or broken plastic keycap. We replace just the keyboard, without having to replace the entire topcase. Repair usually takes 1–3 working days.
In short: Lenovo laptop keyboard replacement in Warsaw doesn’t have to mean replacing the entire upper housing. We have the technology to desolder the old keyboard and fit a new one — this makes the repair cheaper than at service centres that replace the whole topcase. We service ThinkPad, IdeaPad, Legion, Yoga and ThinkBook series. Repair usually takes 1–3 working days.
Our experience — Lenovo keyboard replacements
At our service centre in Warsaw, we’ve carried out 13 keyboard replacements in Lenovo laptops — it’s the brand we see most often with these faults. Most commonly, these are models from the ThinkPad, Legion, Yoga and IdeaPad series.

We replace the keyboard, not the whole topcase
This is the most important thing that sets our repair apart from cheaper service centres:
We don’t replace the topcase, because we have the technology that allows us to desolder just the keyboard and fit a new one in its place. We also use 3D printing for this. This repair works out significantly cheaper than replacing the topcase and is simply more sensible — why replace the entire upper housing when the problem is just the keyboard. Many service centres don’t have this technology and replace the keyboard together with the housing, which means the customer pays more.

In modern laptops, the keyboard is integrated with the upper part of the housing — riveted or moulded into the plastic. That’s why the manufacturer’s default solution is to replace the entire module. We go one step further and replace only what’s actually broken.
When you’re looking for laptop keyboard replacement
You’ve come here if you’re looking for answers to questions like: laptop keyboard not working, keys pressing themselves, broken key on laptop or Lenovo keyboard replacement price. It’s all one service — keyboard repair or replacement.
Symptoms — what customers most often come in with
- Broken plastic keycap — the keyboard itself works, only the component is damaged. In new laptops these keycaps are very thin and break easily
- Keys don’t type characters despite being pressed
- Keys press themselves — text appears even though you’re not pressing anything
- An entire row of keys has stopped working — vertically or horizontally
- Keys are sticking or only respond after pressing hard
How to recognise what’s actually happened
If a single key isn’t working, there’s a good chance that dust has simply got underneath it and it just needs cleaning. But if an entire strip of keys stops working — vertically or horizontally — it very often means that moisture has got in. These keyboards tend to fail in strips like this.

This is practical advice that saves money: one key is often just cleaning, an entire row usually means moisture damage and the need for replacement. If your laptop has suffered liquid damage, it’s worth looking at the liquid damage repair page — time matters there.
What can be repaired without replacing the keyboard
- Single keycap — we replace just the keycap, this is the cheapest repair
- One non-working key — often cleaning the mechanism is enough
- Moisture damage — here replacement of the entire keyboard is usually necessary
- We always check first whether it can be repaired more cheaply — we tell you straight what’s realistic
How keyboard replacement works at our service centre
1. Diagnosis
We establish whether it’s the keycap, dust, or moisture damage.
2. Quote
We tell you straight whether cleaning is enough or replacement is needed.
3. Replacement
We desolder the old keyboard and fit a new one — without replacing the topcase.
4. Testing
We test every key before returning the device.
The above describes the process in our service centre. This is not a DIY repair guide — desoldering a keyboard requires a soldering station and experience, so we recommend contacting a service centre.

Why Apenfix
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Lenovo laptop keyboard replacement cost?
It depends on the scope — replacing just a keycap is the cheapest option, whilst replacing the entire keyboard costs more. With us, however, you don’t pay for the whole topcase, because we replace only the keyboard itself. Current rates can be found in the price list.
Can you replace just one key?
If it’s a cracked plastic keycap — yes, we replace just the keycap. If the problem lies deeper, in the mechanism itself or the keyboard matrix, the entire component needs to be replaced.
One key isn’t working — is that serious?
Usually not. A single key most often stops working due to dust under the mechanism, and cleaning it is enough. It’s worse when an entire row of keys stops working — that’s a typical sign of liquid damage.
Does the whole topcase need to be replaced?
Not with us. We have the technology to desolder the old keyboard and fit a new one, so the top casing stays. This solution is cheaper and more sensible than replacing the entire module.
How long does keyboard replacement take?
Usually 1–3 working days. Replacing a single keycap can sometimes be done on the spot.
Prices for all services can be found in our price list.
