One key on your Lenovo Legion isn’t working, or perhaps an entire row stopped responding after you spilt a drink whilst gaming? The cause varies quite a bit, depending on the scale of the problem. Repair usually takes 1–3 working days.
In short: a single non-working key on a Legion is usually just dust, which can simply be cleaned out. An entire row or strip of keys stopping working is most often moisture — a common scenario when gaming with a drink within arm’s reach. Thanks to desoldering technology for the keyboard itself and 3D printing, we replace only the keyboard, without needing to replace the entire Legion topcase.
Our experience with Lenovo Legion
We’ve replaced the keyboard in 2 Lenovo Legion laptops. This is a gaming series in which the keyboard often has backlighting and works intensively during long gaming sessions.

Legion — gaming keyboard, often with backlighting
Keyboards in Legion laptops often have RGB backlighting and reinforced construction for intensive gaming, which requires precise selection of a compatible part. We don’t replace the entire topcase — thanks to desoldering technology for the keyboard itself and reinforcements printed in 3D, the repair works out significantly cheaper than replacing the entire upper housing of the Legion.

Symptoms of a damaged keyboard
- A single key doesn’t respond or sticks
- An entire row or strip of keys stops working
- The keyboard types random or double characters
- Keyboard backlighting works incorrectly or not at all
With Legions, a common scenario is a spilt drink during a longer gaming session — keyboards „die in strips” after contact with moisture.

Frequently asked questions
I spilt a drink on my Legion keyboard, what now?
Bring the laptop to the service centre as soon as possible — if an entire row of keys has stopped working, it’s usually due to moisture.
Will the new keyboard have backlighting?
We select a compatible replacement suitable for your Legion model, including backlighting if it was present originally.
Do you replace the entire topcase when changing the keyboard?
No, thanks to desoldering technology and 3D printing, we replace only the keyboard, which works out much cheaper.
One key isn’t working on my Legion — does it need replacing?
Usually a simple cleaning is enough — a single key typically stops working because of dust.

Usually 1–3 working days.
