Aluminium XPS casing vs plastic Inspiron/Vostro/Latitude

The casing of XPS series laptops is largely aluminium, which requires a different approach than the plastic housings of Inspiron, Vostro or most Latitude models. With aluminium, repair is based on metal bonding and precise reinforcement of the damaged area, whilst with plastic casings we more often combine bonding with 3D-printing the missing fragment. In both cases we avoid ordinary epoxy — cheaper repair shops glue the damaged area with it, which holds worse and floods the casing so that it can’t be disassembled again later.
