One key on your Acer Nitro isn’t working, or perhaps a whole row stopped responding after you spilt a drink whilst gaming? The cause varies quite a bit depending on the scale of the problem. Repair usually takes 1–3 working days.
In short: one non-working key on a Nitro is usually just dust that needs cleaning out. A whole row or strip of keys stopping working is most often moisture — a common scenario when gaming with a drink within arm’s reach. Thanks to the technology of desoldering just the keyboard and 3D printing, we replace only the keyboard, without needing to replace the entire Nitro topcase.
Our experience with Acer Nitro
We’ve replaced the keyboard in 3 Acer Nitro laptops. This is Acer’s mid-range gaming series, very popular amongst gamers, where the keyboard works intensively during long gaming sessions.

Nitro — gaming keyboard under intensive use
Keyboards in Nitro laptops work intensively during long gaming sessions, which combined with drinking beverages within arm’s reach increases the risk of liquid damage. We don’t replace the entire topcase — thanks to the technology of desoldering just the keyboard and reinforcements printed in 3D, the repair works out significantly cheaper than replacing the entire upper housing of the Nitro.

With the Nitro, a common scenario is a spilt drink during a longer gaming session — keyboards „die in strips” after contact with moisture.

Frequently asked questions
I spilt a drink on my Nitro keyboard, what now?
Bring the laptop to the service centre as soon as possible — if an entire row of keys has stopped working, it’s usually due to moisture.
Will the new keyboard have backlighting?
We select a replacement suitable for your Nitro model, including with backlighting if it was present originally.
Do you replace the entire topcase when changing the keyboard?
No, thanks to desoldering technology and 3D printing, we replace only the keyboard, which works out much cheaper.
One key doesn’t work on my Nitro — does this require replacement?
Usually ordinary cleaning is enough — a single key typically doesn’t work because of dust.
How long does keyboard replacement take on a Nitro?
Usually 1–3 working days.
The exact cost of keyboard replacement on an Acer Nitro is determined individually after a free inspection. You’ll find the current price list under the button above.
